Our story

In the fall of 2014, while being students at Essex University, George, Laurentiu, Cristian and Mircea met as a result of Games Hub which is a business incubator headed by Steven Huckle from Shark Infested Custard and established by the University of Essex, Eastern Enterprise Hub and Essex County Council.

Games Hub is a place where people from all backgrounds use their creativity to make amazing games. Coming from the same country as well as having the perfect combination of skills to create games, they decided to form a company. Being new to the industry, they decided to call it Novo Games.

While being at the incubator, they recognised the immense opportunity and they built great connections with highly experienced people from Microsoft, Square Enix , DLaLa, Arch Creatives and Jagex. Over time they started to gain more attention from BBC Essex Radio, The Gazette, University of Essex News, as well as from various mobile game oriented websites. Eventually they published their best game to date, Mirror Dash, which was featured by the App Store in the Arcade and Dice categories on the first position for paid apps in 100+ regions.
